Welcome to the home of East Kilbride Athletic Club. We are a Scottish Athletics affiliated running club situated at John Wrights Sports Centre, East Kilbride, Scotland. We cater for road running, cross country, hill running and track and field events with the minimum age being eight years, there is no upper age limit.

On another wet evening although not as wet as the week before there were PB's for Ross McGill U15 100m 12.1 and Deborah Stokoe U17 1500m 4:56.6. Also running were Jamie Clements 52.1, Fraser Morgan 57.5 and Beth Duff 58.9 all in the 400m.

Congratulations to Arlene Barr who won the 'B' final in the girls under-15 100m in a time of 13.36. Superb experience for her and she's in the same age group next year. Gregor Thorpe was 6th in the U17 mens long jump with a PB of 5.86m. Also in the long jump were Nishant Puri 11th 5.37m and Ross Morgan 12th 4.80m. In the U17 Hammer Stuart Muir continued his steady progress with a new PB of 31.58m to finish 8th. Well done to all.

Congratulations to Ross Maxwell who jumped a distance of 4m 86cm to become the Scottish U13 Long Jump Champion. Ross then went on to achieve double silver medals in the U13 sprints running 12.83 for the 100m and 27.44 for the 200m. In addition Ailis Clements won Bronze in the U17 Womens Hammer. Also competing were Gregor Thorpe 12.04 and Nishant Puri 12.12 who both finished 4th in their respective heats of the U17 100m.

The following results were recorded at the above OGM on a VERY WET evening well done to all who competed :-)
A female overall 800m Club Record was set by Beth Duff running 2:10.0. PB's were also recorded by Grant Baillie 1:57.7 and Darren Meldrum 2:11.8. Jamie Clements won race 1 with a time of 1:56.8, his third run under 1:57 in as many week's and Fraser Morgan ran a 2:09.0.
Onto the sprints and Shannon McMahon set a fine 200m PB of 29.4 sec after running the 100m in 14.4. Also in the 100m Ross Maxwell ran 12.9, Ross McGill 12.4 and Lauren McCracken 14.7. To round off the evening Ross Maxwell leapt to an excellent 4m90cm in the long Jump taking into account the horrible conditions.
Attention now turns to the Age Group Scottish Champs this weekend and the Lanarkshire & Scottish Senior Champs the following weekend.
